15 Things I Loved About 2015!

2015 has been a year full of ups and downs. I have loved being apart of so many people's lives. 2015 has allowed me to experience and see things I haven't before! So Grayson (@fashionfromateenblog on instagram) and I have teamed up to show ya'll 15 Things I Loved About 2015!

1. Choir Cruise
In February of 2015 a select group of teens from my High School Choir went on a cruise to the Bahamas! Thankfully I was one of them!! While on the cruise we preformed, shopped, and experienced quite a few new things. We traveled to Nassau, Bahamas and Freeport.

2. Dress Up Days
At my High School we have Spirit weeks where there will be certain themes for each day. On this particular day the theme was Disney vs. Marvel. So me and my Friends decided to dress up as different characters from Monsters Inc.

3. I Passed The Permit Test
So in March of 2015 I tired for my permit test at the DMV. I passed my first time! My friend Emily and unintentionally took the test at the same time and passed!!

4. Easter
Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays! Mainly because it's a day that we celebrate because of Jesus' sacrifice for us. The fact that Jesus gave his life so we may live without fear of being punished for sins, is absolutely amazing! Another reason I love Easter is because of all the pretty pastel colors and dresses!
This was my Easter outfit this year!

5. Fourth of July
Every 4th of July I attend the Peach Festival, which is hosted in my town. at the Peach Festival you can ride rides, watch the parade, watch the firework show, eat some amazing BBQ, and shop at local craft stands.

Groupie at Chapel one night.

6. Look Up Lodge Summer Camp
This summer my church attended Look Up Lodge Summer Camp! I had an amazing time getting to make new friends and learn more about God. At Look Up Lodge there are tons of things to do. Like swimming, ziplineing, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, swinging on the giant swing, and you can also play soccer, tennis, volleyball, carpet ball, basketball, 9 square, and corn hole. They also had activities for each church. like relay games, a mud run, and so much more!

Last night celebration.

My friend Dani and I after the mudrun.

7.Neon Night
Where I'm from, Football is a lifestyle! Each High School football game is themed. One of my favorites was neon night. Neon night is where everyone dresses in neon colors!

8. Greek Life
Greek Life/Frat night was my absolute favorite game theme this year! That's because I was able to wear my preppy clothes.
Just Frat It!

9. Black Out
Another one of my favorite football themes was the black put theme. At this game everyone wore black, if you couldn't have guessed. :)

10. I Passed My Restricted Test!
So I passed my restricted test in September of 2015! Which official means I can drive without an adult during the day. I was so excited once I passed.

11. Camping In Oconee Sate Park
This year certain members of my church decided to go on a camping trip in Oconee Sate Park near Clemson, South Carolina. It was beautiful. In Oconee we went hiking to waterfalls, ate s'mores, cooked over the camp fire, went fishing, and even played in the rain! I really enjoyed my time in nature and seeing breath taking scenery.

12. I got a Car!
So in 2015 I learned to drive and passed all my tests. The next step is to own a car. And that's exactly what I'm doing now.

13. Deceased Farms
Around Halloween every year a local farm opens with a corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, and two haunted houses. I go with my friends every year! In 2015 I went twice! I was scared at first but I love scary movies so I was fine.

14. Christmas Sleepover
This year one of my best friends, Hannah, invited three of her friends for a Christmas sleepover party. That night we burned two batches of snicker doodle cookies, ate pizza, watched Christmas movies, and opened presents.

15. A day with my Favorite Blogger friend!

How to Style Lilly: from Glam to Casual

 Happy New Year!
Recently I went to Pink Sorbet (A Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store) in Columbia, South Carolina with one of my blogger friends, Hannah! This is our first collaborating blog post and I'm so excited! I hope you love it!

Casual Look:

To start off this Lilly Pulitzer casual style I am wearing the Candence dress in the print Dripping In Jewels. I also added a Lilly Pulitzer Harp Cashmere Wrap in the color Heather Wheat Metallic. The wrap adds the perfect warmth and brings out the gold tones in the dress. For the shoes, I slipped on some of my favorite Jack Rodgers I got last summer. As you know, it's all in the details for me. So for my accessories I added some costume jewelry earrings that consists of pearls and jewels, a small Kendra Scott necklace, a pastel pink J.Crew bracelet, along with a pink tassel bracelet, and a gold bangle. For my makeup, I added white/nude eye shadow with a soft pink lip! This is the perfect look for a day full of shopping or a day at the office. (Even though I don't work yet. :) )

  Glam Look:

For my Glam look I styled the same Lilly Pulitzer dress, along with the same metallic wrap. To glam this look up a bit I first added my favorite pair of heels. My heels are covered with flowers that look like their made out of cork board material. Which works perfect with my clutch with looks the exact same! I picked it up from New York two years back. I styled the wrap differently by buttoning it up all the way. It gives the outfit sort of a sophisticated feel. For my makeup on this look I added a hot pink lip, metallic gold eyeshadow which is accented with glitter eyeshadow. I also used the same jewelry in both outfits. This look would be perfect for a night out with the girls or a party!

It's all in the details! That's why I included this up close picture of all of the items mentioned above! If you have any questions about my outfits please fee free to ask!

As I mentioned in the introduction, this blog post was in collaboration with my great friend Hannh! Please be sure to check out how she styled her Lilly look by heckling out her blog which will be attached below!
Thanks so much for reading! I have excited things planned for 2016! Hope you'll be able to join!

What am I Thankful for?

With the Thanksgiving holiday less then a day away, the most asked question is, "What are you thankful for?" To actually sit down and think about an answer for this question is really challenging. I don't want to sound cliche when I say that I'm thankful for my family, but I really am. Without my family's support in everything I do, I wouldn't be motivated to do anything, or half the person I am today. Don't get me wrong, my family has its problems but they've never stopped loving me for who I am.

The second thing I am most thankful for are my friends. My friends are there to cheer me up when I'm down, and they are there when I'm in the greatest mood ever! I'm the type of person who has a bunch of friends (i'm a social butterfly) and I'm thankful for them all! My greatest friends though mean the world to me. From our crazy sleepovers, mini photo-shoots, shopping sprees, inside jokes, and everything in between, I am, and always will be grateful for them! Enjoy some pictures of my crazy friends!!

I am thankful for my God. If you don't know, I have a strong Christian faith. Without God, life would be impossible! I am thankful for him allowing me to be alive, wake up everyday, giving me so many blessings, and everything God does for me (trust me, it's a lot)! As one of my favorite songs says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever." I am most importantly thankful for God sending his son to die on the cross, so my sins are vanished.

Without these three things I would be nothing. So these are the things I'm most thankful for. I'm also thankful for food (I love Food), my home, my pets, my bed, animals, my Instagram, school, my followers, books, the sun, the stars, the beach, the mountains, and everything in between! So I have one question for you, What are you thankful for? Feel free to post your answer in the comments or direct message me on Twitter or Instagram (@theofficialprep)! I hope you and your family have an amazing Thanksgiving filled with lots of food, love, and family!!

Love,
Samantha
