Confetti Ring Plate DIY

Hey y'all! So a few days ago I received some of the absolute most perfect confetti from The Confetti Bar! (I'll list all their information at the bottom of this post!) I wanted to create something with this confetti so it wouldn't go to waste. That's when I decided to make a confetti ring plate! This is how it turned out!

If you want to make one of your own, continue reading and I'll teach you how!

What you'll need:
• confetti (I 100% recommend some from The Confetti Bar)
• mod podge (gloss kind)
• paint brushes
• whatever colors of paint you want (I used gold and white)
• terra cotta plant saucer

First, paint your plant saucer the desired colors of your ring plate. I painted mine white with a gold trim.

Second, make sure your plant saucer is dry before continuing on to this step. For step two place a layer of mod podge on the bottom of the plate. Don't put to much on the bottom. You want to be able to make the majority of the confetti stick. Sprinkle the confetti over the mod podge. Try to make it as even as possible!

This next step can get a little messy. Press down on the confetti to make sure the confetti sticks to the bottom of the plate.

Pour some more mod podge over the confetti. Don't be like me and pour a lot of mod podge over your confetti. If you pour to much it will take your ring plate forever to dry.

After pouring the mod podge make sure that the majority of the confetti is covered.

All you have to do now is wait until it completely drys!
Like I said before, when I first pouredmy  mod podge, I pored too much. If this problem happens to you, don't worry! Wait until the mod podge drys. I waited two days for my mod podge to completly dry and it was still white (which means it wasn't completely dry). So all I did was put a thin layer over the white areas and add more confetti. And there you go, problem solved! Here are some more photos of my ring plate!

I hope you enjoyed this Confetti Ring Plate DIY! I use mine for other things since I don't usually wear rings. As promised here is The Confetti Bar's information:

Photoshooting in Cola!

Hey y'all! So Monday August, 8th 2016 I spent the day with Hannah. If you've been following my blog for some time you've definitely heard about her! Her Instagram is @scusemysouthernprep! This whole get together was planned the night before. From the outfits, to the times and everything in between was last minute. I guess that's how we roll! But without further adu here's how our Monday went!

The 45 minute drive to Hannah's house in Columbia, SC was rough this time. The traffic was terrible due to wrecks on the interstate that morning, and to make things worse, I missed an exit on the interstate and was lost. Thankfully my GPS rerouted correctly and I was able to get to Hannah's only 10 minutes late!

After picking her up we decided to head on to Pink Sorbet (our local Lilly store) hoping to meet up with the beloved owners that are the absolute sweetest. Sadly they weren't there, but we looked around anyway. Neither of us bought anything but I was able to snap two photos!

Next we had some time to spare before my orthodontist appointment in West Columbia, so we stopped by the South Carolina State House to take some pictures. We were dressed in Lilly Pulitzer leggings and we each had on tennis shoes and a white shirt. During this mini shoot we took pictures with bubblegum, yoga mats, nature, and just different things. During our photoshoot we had several people walk by and stare at us which was pretty awkward, but that's something you deal with while taking pictures in a public place. Here are some photos from this mini shoot!

We headed to my orthodontist for a quick check up on my teeth. I was in and out super fast because apparently I wear my retainer like I'm supposed to. (I actually don't lol) But after seeing the orthodontist we both were starving. We ate lunch at Grouch's which is a fabulous sub shop around the midlands area. If you ever find yourself there, I highly recommend the White Moose sandwhich! It's the bomb.com!!!

Now it was time for another photoshoot! We decided to take pictures at this gorgeous church beside the State House. It had orange walls that stood out in the city full of gray and white buildings. After we changed into outfit #2 and before we took pictures we decided to play a game of Bean Boolze. If you've never played it before, I wouldn't recommend it. To play you spin to see which color of jelly bean you pick. The first one Hannah spun was yellow with specks. You should probably know that there are two different flavors that look like each jellybean, one good and one bad. So Hannah's were moldy cheese or carmel corn. Of course no one wants to try a moldy cheese jelly bean, but guess who did, me, that's who. Of course Hannah got carmel corn. But needless to say we only played three rounds because after trying booger and toothpaste, I was done. I never got a single good flavored jelly bean and it really sucked. But lets stop my rant right there.

As we were getting out the car to head to this gorgeous church somethng not so good happened. My fingers were shut in the car door. I unknowingly had my pinky in the door jam of the back door and as soon as Hannah shut the door my finger started throbbing. But the photoshoot must go on, and that's exactly what it did. So here are some photos in my Lilly dresses at the church!

The next mini shoot was at the State House once again. Here we were in outfit #3 and #4. We just decided to walk around and see where we each wanted to take pictures. We took photos with different items as well. So here are some photos from our third amd final shoot.

After our last photoshoot we drove to Pelican's Snoballs and got a snoball. I got watermelon while Hannah got plain ice. So that was my Monday in Cola. I hope you enjoyed getting to know what I did and seeing some of the photos! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see more of the photos from these shoots.

What's in my Backpack? + mini DIY

Hey y'all! So you know what time it is, back to school time! Even though I've been dreading this season, I'm actually ready to go back to school. Only to see my friends. No one is ready for all the essays, lab reports, and homework. But one thing that always helps me with getting the the "school" mood is living my school supplies! So on this blog post I'll be showing you what I'm taking back to school!

You can't go to school without a bookbag! So this year accompanying me is this gorgeous White Swedish Lace backpack from Jansport!

Of course I added my own little flare to it with my bean boot keychain (find it in LL Bean's website) and this adorable white keychain I got from a snail mail friend!

This is what the inside of my backpack looks like! This is the main compartment where I put my binders, folders, and notebooks! There is a computer pocket in the back that I use for my pencil pouches.

The next compartment is this little pouch in the front of the bookbag. Here I store my school ID, some little necessities and knick-knacks. That polk-a-dotted think that looks like a slap bracelet is actually a ruler!!! (I thought it was adorable!)

Next this is my binder! I usually design my own binder covers every year, but this year I wanted to try something different. Mini DIY: I wrote the quote (my favorite quote of all time) on a white piece of printer paper and taped it to some hot pink cardstock paper. I then taped the paper to the side sleeve on my binder cover. Next I poured in this fabulous confetti blend from the even more fabulous Confetti Bar! (@theconfettibar on Instagram!) I sealed the top of the sleeve with some clear packaging tape so the confetti wouldn't fall out. My goal was to create a binder shaker cover so when the binder moved, the confetti did too! I hope y'all enjoyed that mini DIY!

For the back of my binder I just printed off the confetti coloring page from The Confetti Bar. I wanted the front and back of the binder to go together!

Can't forget dividers!

I found this really awesome gold lined reinforcement paper from Office Depot!

This scalloped baby blue pencil pouch is also from Office Depot! In this pencil I keep items that I don't need everyday of school.

Here I have my three subject notebook that I'll use to take notes with! I decorated it work some stickers! Then I have a composition notebook that looks like a watermelon! I mean how cute! I also found it at Office Depot!

Every girl needs their Lilly agenda! Am I right?!?!

Next I have my graphing calculator which come is handy all the time and not just in math class. I also have a 24 set of color pencils I carry with me!

This Lilly pencil pouch is the one that carries my everyday items! Like my pencils, some highlighters, erasers, and binder clips!

Next is my emergency kit! Here I carry some sanitizer, bandaids, toothpicks, bobbypins, and Chapstick!

I keep my H2O in this gorgeous monogrammed water bottle!

So that's all that I'm starting the school year with! I hope you enjoyed getting to know what I'm taking back to school!
